American Family Insurance raises LGBT pride flag for the month of June

American Family Insurance today raised the LGBT pride flag at its national headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin, for the second consecutive year. It will fly during the month of June in honor of LGBT pride month.

"Pride month is a celebration and recognition of human rights for the LGBT community, said Jim St. Vincent, human resources vice president. "On behalf of American Family, we take this opportunity to recognize our LGBTA customers, agents and employees."

In 2016, American Family Insurance was the first Dane County, Wisconsin, business to earn a perfect score of 100 percent on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

“Promoting diversity is not only the right thing to do, it’s a business imperative for companies like ours that serve an increasingly diverse customer base and seek to attract and retain diverse employees,” St. Vincent said.
