Anna Pope, partnerships manager, did several media interviews at the House on opening dayAligned with Summerfest’s non-profit mission to provide a showcase for the performing arts, the American Family Insurance House not only inspires and supports the dreams of local musicians, but also Milwaukee’s music students.

Each day features dance-to-mixes curated by the area’s top DJs. Local nonprofits like Grace Weber’s Music Lab (a free monthly music accelerator for high school students) and Bembe Drum & Dance (recipient of a Let the Music Play grant, a Summerfest program supported by American Family for nonprofits and schools that offer music-based learning) are invited to perform on the House stage. Both organizations align with American Family’s mission of inspiring and protecting the music dreams of the next generation. In addition, a songwriting workshop will take place with Grace Weber Music Lab in collaboration with American Family’s DreamBank on Friday, July 7 from noon-1 p.m.

Beyond the music, fans can enjoy the views and relax at the House rooftop and backyard spaces (and charge phones at the charging station). The House also features the opportunity to customize festival swag with pins and patches (fanny pack or bucket hat) and snap a photo in the infinity-mirrored photo booth to share Summerfest memories. All activities and spaces are free and open to the public.Annniversary hat

For Summerfest’s 55th anniversary, American Family sponsored special commemorative hats that were given to the first 10,000 fans who came through the gate on opening day. Exclusive 55th anniversary pins are also available for the free swag items at the House.
Gig posters on display
American Family also recruited Wisconsin and Illinois-based artists to create gig posters of each of the performers at the House, which are displayed throughout the space.

The American Family Insurance House is located behind the Mid-Gate Fountain and is open from 12-8 p.m. daily. Remaining Summerfest dates are June 29-July 1 and July 6-8.
