The Green Bay Packers and American Family Insurance celebrated the official opening of the American Family Insurance DreamDrive training camp activity, which returned in its traditional format after a two-year hiatus.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Wednesday morning, July 27, to recognize DreamDrive, the specially designed bike experience for Packers fans and families at training camp, centered on the storied training camp tradition where Packers players ride children’s bikes to and from practice. Following two years of adjustments due to the pandemic, this special way for players to travel to practice and engage with some of the Packers’ youngest fans has returned as normal this year. DreamDrive continues through August. 17.

Five Dream Fleet bikes, which each celebrate a different piece of Wisconsin’s rich heritage, were introduced for another year at the ribbon-cutting, all provided by the Packers and American Family Insurance. The Dream Fleet bikes include the Cow Cruiser, the Cheddar Chariot, the Packers Tailgate Trailblazer, the Dream Driver and the Farm and Ranch Rider.

Several kids were selected by American Family Insurance to have the opportunity to ride the special bikes to practice with the players. The kids had the opportunity to meet current players and received a Packers/American Family Insurance bike helmet autographed by the player who drove their bike down to practice.

Children are encouraged to participate in DreamDrive throughout Training Camp’s open practices over the next several weeks by bringing their own bikes to practice in keeping with the longstanding tradition. The bike route to practice has been adjusted this year due to ongoing construction on the east side of Lambeau Field.

Kelly“We’re about inspiring dreams, and being associated with a team and a stadium where so many dreams have been imagined and fulfilled is especially rewarding,” said Dan Kelly, American Family Insurance chief underwriting officer, who represented American Family at the event. “We’re excited to celebrate the opening of DreamDrive, and to see participation in this great team and community tradition return to normal after two years.”

DreamDrive is a feature of the partnership between the Packers and the Madison-based insurance company, which has been a partner of the team since 2005. The partnership also includes the American Family Insurance Gate on the stadium’s east side, allowing fans easy access to the Lambeau Field Atrium.
