Indianapolis Colts and American Family Insurance bring "School Uniform Blitz" shopping experience to Pike Township School
The annual event is part of Colts Community Tuesday events.
The Indianapolis Colts kicked off Colts Community Tuesdays on September 15 by partnering with American Family Insurance for the annual Colts School Uniform Blitz, this year at Central Elementary School in northwest Indianapolis.
Colts players worked in four shifts to take 500 Central Elementary students on a “shopping experience” in the school gym, where kids picked out their own outfit and gear.
Each student received a short-sleeve polo shirt, short-sleeve shirt, a fleece crewneck, pants, socks, pencil pouch, water bottle, beanies, a toiletry kit and Colts gear, helping eliminate school clothing as a barrier to students attending and staying in school.
As part of a broader effort to support the school community, the Colts and American Family Insurance also donated 100 new books to the school library. Ferguson Home will donate a new clothes washer and dryer to provide an additional resource for the school’s ongoing student services.
