Eliminating prejudice, promoting dialogue

Summary

The convictions in the murder of Ahmaud Arbery affirm our belief in the judicial system. His tragic death strengthens our commitment to social and racial justice.

The American Family Insurance group believes in equity, racial justice and equality in our communities.

Today, the convictions in the murder of Ahmaud Arbery in Brunswick, Georgia, affirm our belief in the judicial system. Arbery, a Black man, was killed when he was out for a jog and three men assumed he was involved in criminal activity. Our thoughts and hearts are with the Arbery family and everyone affected by his loss.

Ahmaud Arbery’s death serves as a tragic reminder that there is work to do. As a society and as individuals, all should strive to eliminate the thoughts and actions of prejudice and replace them with respect and civil dialogue. We can – and must – do better for the health, safety and future wellbeing of all communities.

American Family Insurance will continue to partner with organizations that fight prejudice and to invest in startups and nonprofits that support physical and mental health for all communities. We will support and strengthen diversity, equity, inclusion and dialogue inside and outside our walls.
