Coronavirus update: We are here to support you

A letter from American Family Insurance Chair and CEO Jack Salzwedel

Summary

An update for our customers.

I want to thank you for the trust you put in American Family Insurance agency owners and employees. As CEO, I feel it’s important to share an update on how we are responding to the coronavirus situation.

American Family’s pandemic team has been closely monitoring the virus and the impact it’s having across our country and world for several weeks. There’s no question the health and safety of our people is our top priority. I would also add that your health and safety is just as important. We are meeting every day and are continually taking action to:

  • Establish policies that reduce the spread of the virus.
  • Ensure the health and safety of our employees and agency owners.
  • Deliver uninterrupted business operations for our policyholders.

Our mission is to inspire, protect and restore dreams. While everything happening in the world can be jarring to our lives, communities and way of life – and threaten the things and people we care most about – I want to reassure you that American Family is prepared and actively managing all aspects of the situation so we can continue serving you in your time of need.

That’s important to me, and it’s important to the nearly 20,000 people who comprise our enterprise of companies.

We’re also aware that, given the current situation, how you choose to do business with us may involve more online or self-service options for the near future. Like we’ve shared with our employees and agency owners, if you’re not feeling well it’s best to stay home. We support that approach.

I’d encourage you to download the MyAmFam app if you haven’t already. You can file claims here, get roadside assistance, pull up proof of insurance or make payments. You can also get assistance on our website, call us at 1-800-692-6326, or contact your local agency owner.

American Family Insurance is committed – and prepared – to serve you while also keeping our people and communities safe. So often, we’re at our best when the situation appears to be at its worst. We’re on this journey with you and look forward to supporting you in whatever way we can.

Thank you for continuing to entrust your dreams with American Family.
