American Family Insurance supports Wisconsin customers impacted by wind and hailstorms

Summary

Claims teams and agency owners respond to support affected customers.

The American Family Insurance Group is responding to customers impacted by the recent wind and hailstorms.

Volatile weather has affected many customers this year, with storms in July having the biggest impact. During July, American Family received almost 30,000 claims from across its group of companies nationwide. In the last week of July alone, American Family Insurance Group claims professionals responded to nearly 3,700 claims from storm systems that impacted mainly midwestern states. Wisconsin customers were hit hardest and accounted for over 1,300 of those claims.

In north-central Wisconsin near LaCrosse, a series of late July storms brought high winds and hail, which took down trees and caused serious damage to homes, businesses and autos.

Catastrophe field adjusters are assisting local claim employees as they contact customers who have reported damage to set upClaims support team appointments to inspect their property. Claim numbers are expected to rise as the insurance group serves customers affected by the storms.

An auto drive-in site has been established in Onalaska, Wisconsin, where customers with damaged cars can have their vehicles inspected and receive payments for damages. These inspections are by appointment only. If you are not able to visit the drive-in site, American Family is offering both field and virtual inspections to facilitate customers’ needs.

Report claims immediately

Customers with damage should report their claims as soon as possible – by filing a claim online or through their insurance agent. Customers will be able to make an appointment for the auto drive-in when they submit their claim.

American Family Insurance adjusters and agency owners will work with customers for as long as it takes to get them on the road to recovery.
