American Family Insurance named a top corporation for women-owned businesses by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)

Recognition reflects American Family’s strong commitment to supplier diversity.

American Family Insurance was recently honored with the America’s Top Corporations award, the only national award honoring companies for world-class supplier diversity programs that reduce barriers and drive growth for women-owned businesses. Representatives from American Family Insurance and The General, also part of the American Family Insurance Group of companies, attended the 2023 WBENC National Conference in late March to accept the award and connect with Women’s Business Enterprises (WBE).

American Family is committed to increasing business opportunities for diverse, women-owned businesses to fuel innovation, enable growth and development, and break down barriers for women entrepreneurs. One example of American Family’s commitment is their partnership with certified Women’s Business Enterprises like Holman, a global fleet management provider.

“As the first and only global fleet management provider to be WBE-certified, Holman is proud to partner with American Family Insurance,” said Denise Wildish, senior vice president, customer experience, at Holman. “Being a WBE-certified business reflects the significant role women throughout our organization have played – and will continue to play – in Holman’s sustained growth and success.”Denise Wildish

“We are honored to win this award,” said Supplier Diversity Manager Anisha Jackson. “We have received three national supplier diversity awards within the last 12 months and it’s exciting to be recognized for the commitment we’re making to WBEs. It was a great way to close out Women’s History Month.”

Since 1999, WBENC has celebrated America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises honorees who successfully drive the sustainable inclusion of women-owned businesses within Anisha Jacksoncorporate and government supply chains and empowered local communities through economic growth and job creation.

The WBENC Top Corporations model reviews WBE outreach and engagement, such as providing support for successful onboarding and retention of WBEs for supply chain business needs and development of future WBEs. The model also assesses foundational concepts of supplier diversity, including overall program structure, contracting, and reporting, and organization accountability with executive leadership and line of business decision-makers.
