American Family Insurance responds to Missouri storms with aid and donations

Summary

The American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation is donating $30,000 to aid relief and recovery in Missouri.

Cleanup and recovery efforts are underway across the central and eastern U.S. following a powerful storm system that swept across the nation in mid-March. The multiday severe weather outbreak produced tornadoes, heavy rain, wind, hail, flooding and other damaging conditions, impacting thousands and causing significant damage to homes and businesses.

By the end of March, more than 11,000 claims had already been generated across American Family Insurance companies in 17 states, including significant losses in Missouri, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Georgia.

In response to these severe storms, a catastrophe team from American Family Insurance is focusing its efforts on Missouri, where the highest number of claims has been reported.

To support local disaster relief and those affected in Missouri, the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation disaster response program is donating $30,000 to select nonprofit organizations. The money will be distributed $15,000 each to the Salvation Army Midland and American Red Cross of Missouri

To provide additional recovery assistance, catastrophe field adjusters are assisting local claim employees and field adjusters to contact customers and organize property inspection appointments following the storm damage.

Catastrophe Response VehicleA mobile claims site has been stationed at Home Depot in Arnold, Missouri, within Jefferson County, which has seen the greatest concentration of damage to homes and businesses. • Text the word STORM to 26326 (AMFAM)
Customers can text the word STORM to 26326 (AMFAM) to be sent a link to file their claim quickly and easily from their smartphones. Message and data rates may apply.
