American Family Insurance group companies respond to customers impacted by Hurricane Ian

Homesite, Main Street America and True customers among those affected

Claims professionals from all American Family Insurance group companies are responding to help our customers in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. As of October 7, claims in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia total more than 3,500 and are expected to rise as customers are able to access their properties.

In the week before Hurricane Ian’s landfall, more than 200 claims and call center employees from across the American Family Insurance group prepared to help customers in the line of the storm. The highest reported wind gust from the storm was 128 mph and with rain as much as 31 inches of rain in some areas.

Donating thousands to local organizations

Homesite, Main Street America and True, along with the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation, are giving $10,000 each to Harry Chapin Food Bank, Premier Mobile Health Services and Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties to aid disaster relief efforts in the impacted areas. Homesite, Main Street America and True provide service to many customers in the region who are dealing with the aftermath of the storm. In addition to this localized response, the Dreams Foundation has a longstanding partnership with the Red Cross and provides $40,000 annually to support any emergency response needs in our footprint. Our teams will continue to work with our customers as they evaluate the damage and work to recover.
