2026 American Family Insurance and Milwaukee Brewers announce sixth year of Fearless Dreamer Scholarship Program; applications now being accepted

American Family Insurance and the Milwaukee Brewers^TM/Brewers Community Foundation (BCF) announce the application process for the 2026 Fearless Dreamer Scholarship Program for Milwaukee graduating high school seniors or first-time college students, is now open. 

This scholarship program, now in its sixth year, underscores the commitment of both organizations to providing funds for Milwaukee students pursuing a major program of study. 

Five scholarships awarded each year 

Five scholarships are awarded each year, worth $2,500 per year and renewal up to four additional years (or until a bachelor’s degree is earned), for a maximum total of $12,500 to the recipient. At any given time, up to 25 students could be supported by the program. 

Renewal of scholarship monies is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study.

Scholarship details 

To be eligible for a Fearless Dreamer scholarship, applicants must be a graduating senior (or a high school graduate not previously enrolled in a post-secondary institution, and under the age of 25), live in Milwaukee and intend to enroll in a full-time two- or four-year accredited university, pursuing a degree in any major program of study. 

Applicants must have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Fearless Dreamer scholarships are awarded for undergraduate study only.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on the following criteria: academic performance; demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities; work experience; challenging/unusual personal or family circumstances; an online recommendation; and a short essay question, “What dream will you be able to pursue with this scholarship?” Financial need is not considered.

Applications being accepted through March 31 

Fearless dreamers living in Milwaukee who want to apply for one of the five scholarships can visit the link below. Applications for 2026 scholarships will be accepted from now through March 31, 2026 at 3 p.m. CST, with an announcement to all applicants about scholarship recipients in June 2026.

American Family and BCF signed formal agreements to endow the scholarship over the life of their 15-year partnership to ensure it will continue in perpetuity, with the funds established at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.
