2020 American Family Insurance Championship donates more than $3 million to non-profit organizations

Traditionally, this is the time of year we would be announcing the proceeds and grant recipients from the 2020 PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship.

Even though we were not able to hold a tournament or a celebratory event this year due to COVID-19 concerns, we’re still celebrating – because the charitable aspect of the tournament continued. We were able to fulfill our mission by providing meaningful impact through support of organizations that address critical community needs.

As announced earlier this year at the time of the cancellation, American Family Insurance reallocated its tournament title sponsorship investment and, combined with financial resources within the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation, made a total of $3,045,500 in donations (an increase from $2.8 million previously announced).

This year, a total of 154 non-profit organizations received funding, including American Family Children’s Hospital/UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin along with other organizations in southeastern and southcentral Wisconsin. You can see the complete list of 2020 grant recipients here

We’re also proud to report since the inaugural American Family Insurance Championship in 2016, a total of $10,231,000 has been donated through 436 charitable grants.

The impact of the American Family Insurance Championship and the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation has certainly exceeded our initial vision. We are sincerely grateful for the generous support from so many who have contributed to our success.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2021 PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship scheduled for June 5-13 at University Ridge in Madison.

Wishing you happy holidays, and we hope you enjoy this special holiday message:
