Stress Less. Dream More.

Is stress getting in the way of you pursuing your dreams?

Tracie Fountain, acclaimed wellness coach and DreamBank expert, answers our questions about stressing less, and finding more energy for what matters most.

What is stress?Tracie: Think of stress as the body's method of reacting to a challenge. When your mind senses tension, the body produces your "fight or flight" hormones to respond to the situation. This feeling is common - in fact, it's estimated that 75-90 percent of all visits to the doctor are for stress-related problems!

How does stress affect one's ability to achieve their dreams?Tracie: Research shows that your perception of stress can make a profound difference on how it affects your body. For instance, if you think your stress is bad for you, then it will more likely lead to negative health outcomes. However, if you think of your stress as a motivator, it can give you extra drive to go after your dreams!

What advice do you have for reducing stress?Tracie: It's the simple things that make the biggest difference:

  1. Master your morning. When you wake up, pause. Take time to think through your day. It will give you the opportunity to ground yourself and put your best self forward!
  2. Eat real food. Food is your fuel. If you are putting junk in your body, your energy is not going to be steady and stable. Remember the "great-grandma" rule - if it wasn't around 100 years ago, you probably shouldn't be eating it!
  3. Embrace gratitude. Kicking out negative thoughts and focusing on all things you are thankful for is the key to discovering a more balanced, stress-free life!
