American Family claims team helping Wisconsin and Illinois customers impacted by large hail

Summary

About 1,500 claims have been reported for damage to homes, vehicles and businesses due to large hail and strong wind that moved across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois last week.

A catastrophe team from American Family Insurance is joining local claim office employees as they help customers recover from a severe storm with large hail and strong wind that damaged homes and vehicles in southern Wisconsin, Wednesday night. American Family is focused on helping customers in Rock, Walworth, Jefferson, Kenosha, Racine and Waukesha county.

About 1,500 property and auto claims have been generated so far from this storm. More claims are still expected to be reported. Catastrophe field adjusters are assisting local claim employees as they contact customers who already reported damage to set up appointments to inspect their property. The number of claims is expected to rise as people examine their homes and vehicles for hail damage.

American Family Insurance customers who have claims from storm damage should immediately contact the company's 24-hour Customer Care Center, 1-800-MY-AMFAM (692-6326). They can also report claims to their local American Family agent, or online at www.amfam.com/claims.

Drive-in sites are being established to inspect damaged vehicles. These inspection sites are by appointment only. Customers with damage should call the 24-hour Customer Care Center, 1-800-692-9326 (MYAMFAM) to report a claim and set up an appointment for inspection.
