New video helps customers understand American Family's claim process

Madison, Wis. (May 12, 2015) - When American Family Insurance customers see wind or hail has damaged their property, most know to contact us right away.

But, sometimes there is confusion about what happens after they've filed a claim. Should they call a contractor? Wait for the adjuster? Attempt minor repairs themselves? Leave everything as-is?

Now, there's a new video that answers those questions – and more – for our customers.

The video, which is less than three minutes long, outlines exactly what will happen after a wind or hail claim is submitted, what an adjuster will do when he or she visits the property and how any claim payments will be made.

The video features an American Family catastrophe property claims adjuster who has been with our company for four years and has been a property adjuster for 17. While he was a little anxious about appearing on camera, he says the experience was worth it if the video will help put customers at ease.

Claims will share the video with customers reporting their claims through the Care Centers. Agents will share the video with customers who submit wind or hail losses to their office.

The video is available on YouTube and on amfam.com.
