Media advisory: Welcome!

Welcome to the 2019 American Family Insurance Championship:

It’s tournament week at the 2019 American Family Insurance Championship. Thank you for signing up to cover the tournament.

During the week, we will provide information to the news media using the For Media section (found in top navigation) of the tournament website: www.amfamchampionship.com. Information will include a daily schedule of events, tournament fast facts and records, transcriptions of player interviews, results, tee times and more.

We will also email you media advisories on breaking news, such as pre-tournament player interviews when they are scheduled, results of the Monday qualifier at The Legend of Bergamont golf course, post-round notes from the PGA TOUR Champions, and other developments.

Media Center hours (we’ll be here as long as you need us)

Monday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday-Thursday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Important information on parking

Media parking remains onsite; follow the signs to “M.” Enter the golf course main entrance on Highway PD with your gate pass that was attached to your credential approval email. Display to security. Follow the signs to the M media parking area. You can flag down a volunteer shuttle to take you from the tournament gate to the media center.

We ask the media to please publicize a change in general admission parking. All general admission parking will shift to off-site parking lots, with free shuttle service provided to and from the championship’s front gate.

We are using the same off-site parking lots and shuttle system we used in previous years when heavy rains prevented on-site parking. Spectators responded favorably to the off-site locations and shuttle service.

The parking locations are:

Verona High School (300 Richard Street, Verona) and Badger Ridge Middle School (740 N. Main Street, Verona).
When those lots are full, fans will be diverted to other locations, including Epic in Verona, Redden Soccer Complex (6874 Cross Country Rd, Verona) and West Madison Bible Church (2920 N County Rd M, Verona).

Electronic signs will provide directions to the parking lots. Free shuttle service will begin at 5:30 a.m., with tournament gates opening at 7 a.m., and continue for the entire day.

If rains prevent on-site parking for the news media, we will inform you to use the off-site locations and shuttle service.

Credential pick-up

Pick up your weekly credentials and parking passes in the Media Center, located behind the training center. Again, use your gate pass to gain entry the first day you arrive.

Inside-the-ropes access

Daily stickers are required for inside-the-ropes access during the tournament. You can obtain the stickers from PGA TOUR Champions staff at the media center, Chris Richards or Jackie Servais.

Please comply with PGA TOUR rules on inside-the-ropes access at all times, including during the celebrity foursome:

Media with an inside-the-ropes credential: (i) must remain within an arm’s length from the ropes, so as to blend into the gallery and appear to be part of the gallery at all times; and (ii) is not permitted on the teeing ground unless express written permission has been granted by PGA TOUR.
A credential holder may not position himself/herself in the line of play. If requested to move by a player, caddie or PGA TOUR or Tournament staff, a Credential Holder must do so without delay or discussion. A Credential Holder should position him/herself outside of the reasonable line of sight of PGA TOUR broadcasters.
