Life Insurance Company in Ward Group’s Top 50 for eleventh consecutive year

Ward Group designation affirms financial strength and stability

American Family Life Insurance Company recognized again by Ward Group as one of the nation's top 50 performing life/health insurance companies.

American Family Life Insurance Company (AFLIC) has been recognized by Ward Group as one of the nation's top 50 performing life/health insurance companies for the eleventh straight year.

Ward Group is a consulting firm that helps insurance companies optimize performance and improve profitability by providing operational and compensation benchmarking and best-practices.

Each year, Ward Group analyzes the financial performance of more than 700 life/health insurance companies domiciled in the United States and identifies the top performers. Each Ward’s 50 company has passed all safety and consistency screens and achieved superior performance over the five years analyzed.

When a company is selected as a top performer, they have met several criteria, including financial stability, revenue growth, capital/surplus, net income and financial returns.

“Our customers depend on us to honor life insurance claims today and into the future,” said Rich Steffen, AFLIC president. “The Top 50 designation from Ward’s Group, as well as other strong financial ratings, such as ‘A’ from A.M. Best and ‘A+’ from Fitch, demonstrate we’ll be here to fulfill our promises to customers and their families, at a time when they need it most.”

The A.M. Best ‘A’ rating is the third highest of their 15 ratings and the Fitch ‘A+’ rating is the fifth highest of 21 ratings.
