Last year the Life Company donated $10,000 to the Life Lessons Scholarship Program. See scholarship winner Kimmy's compelling story in this video on the benefits of life insurance in pursuing her dream of a college education.

Kimmy wasn’t sure she’d be able to continue her college education after her mom died suddenly last fall from a heart attack.

Kimmy’s mom, who helped her pay for college, had no life insurance when she died. But this fall, Kimmy is back at school, thanks to her selection as the 2017 recipient of the American Family Life Lessons scholarship.

American Family Life Insurance Company (AFLIC) donated $10,000 last year to the Life Lessons Scholarship Program. The program, sponsored by industry organization Life Happens, helps young people seeking a college education and struggling financially because their parent or guardian died with little or no life insurance.

Watch the video below to meet Kimmy and find out how her scholarship is helping her pursue her dreams.

How you can help keep a dreamer moving forward
This year, we’re recognizing Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM) in September by renewing our commitment to helping dreamers pursue their dreams. Like last year, AFLIC is donating up to $10,000 to the scholarship program.

We’re sponsoring a short true/false life insurance quiz on dreamfearlessly.com. Designed to dispel myths about life insurance, the quiz is a fun and educational way to deliver the message that life insurance protects dreams.

For each quiz completed in September, AFLIC will donate $1 (up to $10,000) to the scholarship program.
