Dreams Foundation donates $15,000 for Wisconsin flood relief

Company responds in multiple ways as storms batter Wisconsin

Summary

Updated Aug. 29: American Family Insurance supports flood relief efforts in Wisconsin while claims teams help customers hit by wind, rain and flooding across the state.

American Family claims teams are supporting customers in 18 additional counties after wind, rain storms and flooding hit west and central Wisconsin early this week. The storms came on the heels of historic rainfall that led to flooding in the Madison area on Aug. 20.

To help Wisconsinites affected by the flooding, American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation is donating $15,000 to support flood relief efforts – $5,000 each to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and Middleton Outreach and Ministries.

American Family Insurance claim teams are also helping more than 1,000 Wisconsin customers wih damage from the heavy rains and wind storms. More than 300 of those are for automobiles damaged in flood waters.

"We want to do what we can to help people dealing with the devastation,” said Judd Schemmel, executive director of the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation.

"This is an opportunity for us to live out our mission to inspire, protect and restore dreams,” Schemmel said.
