Claim teams from American Family help customers with ice dams and flooding damage in Minnesota and Wisconsin

Summary

Temperature fluctuations combined with record snowfall are leading to more ice dam and flooding damage - learn how claim adjusters are responding.

A catastrophe team from American Family Insurance is joining local claim office employees as they help customers impacted by ice dams, flooding and sewer back up. About 1000 claims could be generated from customers for the damage to property, farms and businesses. Catastrophe field adjusters are assisting local claim employees as they contact customers and set up appointments to inspect their properties.

American Family’s efforts are focused on helping Minnesota customers in Hennepin, Ramsey, Washington, Dakota, Scott and Anoka counties. In Wisconsin the focus is on Eau Claire, Trempealeau, Jackson, Wood, Marathon and Portage counties at this time.

American Family Insurance customers who have claims from storm damage should immediately contact the company's 24-hour Customer Care Center, 1-800-MY-AMFAM (692-6326). They can also report claims to their local American Family agent, or online at www.amfam.com/claims.
