AmFam "One Saturday to Dream Fearlessly" event held in Seattle

Summary

The American Family event on Saturday, May 13 brought together Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, community volunteers and Seattle-area agents to benefit two local organizations.

American Family recently held its second One Saturday to Dream Fearlessly event, this time in Seattle. Seahawks player cornerback Richard Sherman, 250 community volunteers and local AmFam agents participated in the event.

The group assembled 3,000 kits to benefit YouthCare and Mary’s Place to use for street outreach or for guests at their homes or shelters.

Mary's Place offers programs and services in a welcoming and accepting environment where women, children, and families who are experiencing homelessness can build community, enrich their days and find resources to restore their lives. Mary’s Place also operates six emergency night shelters for families.

Youthcare builds confidence and self-sufficiency for homeless youth by providing a continuum of care that includes outreach, basic services, emergency shelter, housing, counseling, education and employment training.

Assembled included nuts, jerky, cheese and crackers, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, sunscreen, eye drops, wipes, underwear, reusable water bottle and a personalized note from volunteers, all in a reusable cinch bag.

Hosted by American Family Insurance, the One Saturday to Dream Fearlessly events are ongoing celebrations to encourage participants to create a positive change in their communities, while inspiring dreams, and bring together community volunteers, American Family agents, brand ambassadors and employees.
