The American Family DreamBank will host a variety of free, public events in celebration of Women’s History Month.

During the month of March, we celebrate Women’s History Month to recognize the history and achievements of women. American Family recognizes that throughout history, women’s pursuit of their dreams has inspired and empowered many other women to do the same. The American Family DreamBank will host a variety of free, public events in celebration of Women’s History Month.

Women’s History Month
Women’s History Month is the annual celebration of the contributions women have made in the United States and recognizes the specific achievements women have made during American history. In 1987, Congress passed a resolution proclaiming March as Women’s History Month. Since then, presidents have issues annual proclamations designating the month of March as Women’s History Month. Since then, other countries began recognizing the month as well.

Events at DreamBank
The American Family Insurance DreamBank is hosting events during March which will celebrate Women’s History Month. DreamBank is committed to bringing forth conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion while showcasing speakers who represent the many dimensions of their community of dreamers. Referring to March as Women’s Herstory Month is a way to honor women’s contributions and to emphasize their point of view during this celebratory month. The events are free, virtual and open to the public.

Love yourself: A five-part series on radical self-love
Thursdays, March 10-May 5, 12-1 p.m. Central Standard Time
Join Mental Health Therapist, Kyira Wackett, for a five-session course designed to help you understand the importance of self-love. The course will cover self-care, how to love yourself and create a foundation to deepen your love for yourself today and tomorrow. Wackett discusses the importance of well-being, and the negative health effects that stress has on the body.

Book club for kids: Women’s Herstory Month Edition
Tuesday, March 29, 6-6:30 p.m. Central Standard Time
Join DreamBank for our first ever Book Club for Kids! In celebration of Women’s Herstory Month, we’ll be reading author Pat Zietlow Miller’s picture book, “The Quickest Kid in Clarksville” — a timeless story of dreams, determination and the power of friendship, based in the hometown of Wilma Rudolph, three-time Olympic gold medalist.

Women’s history, present and future: A conversation with Emily ChangEmily Chang
Wednesday, March 30, 12-1 p.m. Central Standard Time
Join us in celebration of Women's Herstory Month as we sit down for a conversation with Emily Chang, Emmy Award-winning journalist, anchor and executive producer at Bloomberg TV and author of the national bestseller, “Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys’ Club of Silicon Valley.” In this talk moderated by American Family Insurance DreamBank Manager, Natalie Healy, Emily will touch on topics such as the Global Women's Movement, women in business, work-life balance, ways that anyone can support women, her own dream pursuit and advice for others who are pursuing their own dreams.
