American Family pays more than $15 million after storms hit Janesville and Rockford areas

Summary

American Family has paid more than $15 million in claims following an early May storm that hit south central Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

When a storm hit south central Wisconsin and northern Illinois in early May, American Family Insurance quickly dispatched teams to assist customers whose autos, homes and businesses were damaged by wind and large hail.

In total, the storm led to almost 2,400 claims in Rock, Walworth, Jefferson, Kenosha, Racine and Waukesha counties in Wisconsin and another 1,400 in Winnebago, Boone, McHenry and Lake counties in northern Illinois. The majority of claims were for homes, but vehicles and commercial properties were also damaged.

A total of more than $15 million has been paid to-date to Wisconsin and Illinois customers with storm damage.

“When people’s lives are affected by storms like this one, we’re here.” said Tim Constien, vice president of Claims at American Family Insurance. “We’ve been with customers every step of the way to make sure the damage is repaired and their lives are restored.”

In addition to these Midwest spring storms, American Family is responding to customers affected by multiple storms across the country, including major hailstorms and wildfires in the state of Colorado.
