American Family Life Insurance Company named to Ward Group's Top 50 list for eighth straight year

Madison, Wis. (August 12, 2015) - For the eighth consecutive year, American Family Life Insurance Company (AFLIC) has been recognized by Ward Group as one of the nation's top 50 performing life/health insurance companies. Only nine life/health insurers have been named to Ward's list for eight or more consecutive years, and AFLIC is one of them.

Ward is a consulting firm that helps insurance companies optimize performance and improve profitability by providing operational and compensation benchmarking and best-practices.

Ward Group evaluates the safety, consistency and financial performance of nearly 800 life/health insurers based in the United States to develop its list of the top 50. Ward analyzes data submitted by companies such as AFLIC over a five-year period, in this case 2010 through 2014.

Criteria for selecting a top performer include financial stability, revenue growth, capital/surplus, net income and financial returns.
