American Family Insurance supports Wisconsin mask order

Studies show masking is critical tool in reducing COVID-19 spread

Summary

In keeping with our approach to protecting our employees and supporting communities, American Family strongly supports the Wisconsin statewide mask order.

A recent editorial published in the Journal of the American Medical Association reviewed numerous studies and affirmed that cloth face coverings can be an important tool in reducing community spread of COVID-19, especially when worn universally.

As a major Wisconsin and national employer, American Family Insurance has focused on the health and wellbeing of our agency owners, employees and communities since the worldwide pandemic was declared in March, including quickly enabling our workforce to work remotely. We have also joined with other Wisconsin businesses to improve COVID-19 testing processes statewide.

We follow CDC guidelines in our decision-making and require the small number of employees who must work at our offices to wear masks to ensure everyone’s health and safety.

In keeping with our approach to protecting our employees and supporting communities, American Family Insurance strongly supports the Wisconsin statewide mask order.

“As a company, we support healthy individuals and communities in many ways,” said Jack Salzwedel, CEO of American Family Insurance. “This includes our agency owners, our employees, our customers and potential customers. We believe in the strength of our communities and this is another way to keep our communities healthy and safe during this time."
