American Family Insurance supports University of Wisconsin-Madison All Campus Party Day of Service

Summary

Day of Service on Tuesday, April 24 encourages student volunteerism and contributions to the community.

American Family Insurance, as part of its partnership with the University of Wisconsin – Madison, recently supported the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board during their week-long campus party, specifically the Day of Service. The Day of Service offered students the opportunity to give back, advocate for causes and be aware of how they can make a difference in the world.

American Family had a booth space where two of our brand partners, UW Men’s head basketball coach Greg Gard, and Mark Tauscher, ESPN radio host and former Green Bay Packer, worked alongside employees.

In coordinating with the American Family Children’s Hospital, American Family identified a need for crayons in zip-locked baggies for kids who come in need of care, since crayons are typically taken home by the child or thrown away. The American Family booth served as a collection and assembly area, where students were encouraged to bring crayons to donate, and/or help in assembling zip locks bags.

Approximately 6,000 crayons were delivered to the hospital at day’s end.
