American Family Insurance, Packers donating $20,000 in ready-made meals to frontline workers

Summary

Meals will be distributed in Northeast Wisconsin during Nurse Appreciation Week and Police Appreciation Week.

American Family Insurance and Green Bay Packers Give Back are teaming up to provide $20,000 in the form of ready-made meals to frontline workers in Northeast Wisconsin as the area continues battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

To show their appreciation for those who are working to keep the community safe and healthy, American Family Insurance and the Packers will deliver thousands of meals to hospitals during Nurse Appreciation Week from May 6-12 and police and fire stations during Police Appreciation Week from May 10-16.

Meals will be delivered to a total of 10 locations in Brown, Outagamie and Winnebago Counties starting May 6.

“We owe these workers our gratitude for their steady presence and commitment to the community during this pandemic,” said Nate Pokrass, America Family’s community investment and partnerships director. “American Family Insurance is proud to partner with the Packers to donate meals to honor and thank these hard-working heroes on the front lines.”

American Family Insurance and its group companies, along with the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation, previously announced more than $4 million in support for COVID-19 pandemic relief and other non-profit efforts. This included a $30,000 donation from DePere-based CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Brown County United Way’s COVID Relief Fund. Support from the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation is expected to push the total support to more than $6.8 million.

The Packers continue to work closely with the organization’s partners to identify needs and give back to the community during this challenging time. In addition to this donation of ready-made meals, the Packers have contributed to the community with $1.5 million in grants through the Packers Give Back COVID-19 Community Relief Fund, as well as a variety of other donations and messages of support to those in need.
