American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation donates $25,000 to California Strong

Summary

American Family joins Milwaukee Brewers players Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun to assist organization dedicated to helping victims in California.

American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation recently made a $25,000 donation to California Strong, an organization dedicated to assisting victims of catastrophic events in California, including recent wildfires.

American Family shares a partnership with the Milwaukee Brewers, and Brewer standouts and California natives Christian Yelich (2018 National League MVP) and Ryan Braun (2011 National League MVP) are two of four professional athletes who joined forces to create California Strong. The organization raises funds and awareness to support those affected by tragic events, such as wildfires and mass shootings. Yelich and Braun also took part in the most recent charity event, a sold-out celebrity softball game held on Jan. 13 in Malibu, Cal., where all proceeds were donated to the organization.

“On behalf of the proud partnership American Family shares with the Milwaukee Brewers, we’re pleased to join players Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun, in assisting California Strong in efforts to help families in their home state shattered by these devastating events, get back on their feet,” said Judd Schemmel, American Family Insurance community investment director.

California Strong, with the involvement of professional athletes, actors and musicians, partners with the Southeast Ventura County YMCA to ensure 100% of the proceeds from every donation are given to affected families to provide resources for rebuilding their lives. In addition, they leverage their reach with YMCAs throughout the state to strengthen every community in California.
