American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation donates $10,000 for Missouri tornado relief
American Red Cross and the United Way of Central Missouri are recipients of donation from American Family.
The American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation has donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross and the United Way of Central Missouri in the amounts of $5,000 each. The donations are in support of the recovery and relief efforts following the Jefferson City, Missouri tornado that ravaged the city and surrounding areas in late May.
“American Family is committed to supporting our customers and communities,” said Judd Schemmel, American Family Insurance associate vice president of community investment. “While the American Family team is hard at work helping our customers affected by this devastating tornado, we wanted to take the opportunity to also provide assistance to organizations helping Missouri residents recover from this tragedy.”
American Family is encouraging employees and agents who make donations to qualified relief organizations to use the company’s matching gift program.
American Family has received more than 300 claims from the tornadoes that struck Jefferson City and other communities in Missouri, including more than 20 for homes that were severely damaged or destroyed.
American Family claims adjusters have been responding to this as well as other damaging storms that have affected thousands of residents and customers across the Midwest.
