American Family Insurance named a 2020 DiversityInc Noteworthy company

American Family Insurance has been named a DiversityInc Noteworthy company for the second consecutive year.

The DiversityInc Top 50 list, issued yearly since 2001, recognizes the nation’s top companies for diversity and inclusion. These companies excel in such areas as hiring, retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT people and veterans.

More than 1,000 companies were evaluated for inclusion in the Top 50. The rankings are empirically driven and based on 2019 company-submitted data in these six key areas: 1) Leadership Accountability, 2) Human Capital Diversity Metrics, 3) Talent Programs, 4) Workforce Practices, 5) Supplier Diversity and 6) Philanthropy.

The Noteworthy list is comprised of approximately 30 additional companies with data indicating they have the potential to make The DiversityInc Top 50. These companies are judged by the same criteria.

“While some companies are scaling back their diversity and inclusion efforts, our commitment is unwavering. We remain focused on maintaining and enhancing our inclusive culture, and this recognition reflects that,” said Tyler Whipple, vice president of inclusive excellence. “Now, more than ever, we want people to feel included and connected so they can do their best for our customers, communities and each other.”

In 2020 American Family was also recognized for the fifth consecutive year as a best place to work for LGBTQ equality and made the Forbes Best Employers for Diversity list for the third year in a row.
