American Family Insurance – Proud sponsor of FFA and future agricultural leaders

Summary

February 22-29 is National FFA Week.

American Family Insurance has been a proud sponsor of FFA for 25 years and joins them in celebrating National FFA Week, February 22-29, 2020.

National FFA Week - educating about agriculture's impact

Each year, FFA chapters around the country celebrate National FFA Week, a time to share the story of what FFA is and how FFA is preparing future leaders through agricultural education. Currently, FFA has over 700,000 student members as part of 8,600 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the organization is supported by more than 8 million alumni members throughout the U.S.

Designated as a national week in 1947, FFA Week gives FFA members an opportunity to educate the public about agriculture and show their local impact and story. During the week, chapters conduct a variety of activities to help others in their school and community learn about FFA and agricultural education.

The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

American Family Insurance has sponsored FFA for 25 years because, like those who work in agriculture, we believe in the value of hard work as well as supporting local communities.

Many of American Family’s agency owners, in addition to protecting dreams with farm/ranch insurance coverage, work with agricultural’s future leaders by supporting local FFA chapters.

Missouri agency owners partner with FFA

For example, last year, for the second year in a row, agency owners in Missouri partnered with more than 700 FFA member kids to participate in a volunteer activity at the Missouri state fair in August (see photo at left). The volunteers packed 128,460 meals, exceeding the first year’s total as well as the goal set by a local organization, Missouri Farmers Care.

The meals were distributed among six large food banks in Missouri. Read more about and see more photos of last year’s event.
