American Family’s Chief Operating Officer Telisa Yancy recently shared her experiences and perspective as a Black executive in corporate America for a Wall Street Journal podcast and news story.

You can listen to the podcast here and on the Spotify, Apple and other podcast platforms as Yancy explains her personal and professional journey. The podcast also features comments from Dr. Adia Wingfield, professor of sociology at Washington University in St. Louis, whose research examines how and why racial and gender inequality persists in professional occupations.

The podcast is a companion piece to a recent story in the Wall Street Journal, featuring Yancy and other Black C-suite executives. In that article, which you can read here if you have a Wall Street Journal subscription, Yancy talks of her experiences and American Family’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

The podcast and article affirm practices taking root across the American Family group as we work to achieve our strategic goal of further increasing the racial/ethnic diversity of our teams. Those practices include commitment from the top, increasing diversity in leadership in addition to employee ranks, and intentional inclusion and development opportunities for diverse employees in all areas of the company.
