American Family agency owners and claims teams continue working closely with customers affected by fast-moving fires in Boulder County, Colorado, last week.

Agency owner Callie Ben Mitchell, whose Broomfield office was evacuated on Thursday and without power until Monday, began contacting customers in the fire-damaged area almost immediately. “Over the holiday weekend my staff and I reached out to make sure everyone was safe and assist with the claim process,” Mitchell said. “The community and neighbors have been so supportive of each other – especially those who lost everything.” Callie Ben Mitchell

So far, the company has received more than 300 property, commercial and vehicle claims in the Louisville and Superior areas, including dozens of claims for destroyed or severely damaged homes. Adjusters are working with customers who have immediate needs, providing payments for temporary housing and food expenses if the home is uninhabitable.

Claims teams are serving American Family Insurance customers as well as customers of the American Family Insurance group companies CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance, The General and Homesite. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, claims are handled based on customer preference and safety for customers and claims professionals. Best practices and protocols are being observed to ensure everyone’s health and safety.

American Family has a mobile claim office set up at 1755 South Public Road, in Lafayette, Colorado. “Were here to take care of and support our customers and the community during this time,” said Todd Smith, who’s heading up the claim response team in Colorado.
