American Family continues assistance to customers with damage from Illinois and Missouri flooding

Customers with damage have additional time to pay premiums

Summary

American Family continues to assist customers in Illinois and Missouri following the recent flooding that continues to threaten those areas.

Working with the Illinois Department of Insurance, American Family is giving storm-affected customers in Calhoun, Jackson, Jersey, Madison, Monroe, Randolph and St. Clair counties additional time to pay premiums. American Family is also waving late fees and temporarily suspending any policy cancellations or nonrenewals of affected customers.

Customers in Illinois and Missouri directly impacted by the flooding should contact their American Family agent immediately if they need additional time to make premium payments. An extension will also be considered for other policy provisions that may include a time limit such as submission of a claim or completing a required repair.

Illinois customers who have a disaster-related dispute or issue may contact the Illinois Department of Insurance at 1-866-445-5364 or file a complaint online.
