Adjusters begin responding to Michael

Summary

Customers have reported dozens of claims to American Family Insurance, Homesite, and The General from Tropical Storm Michael, with the number expected to increase as the storm continues on its path through the Southeast.

Claims teams from American Family Insurance group companies, including American Family Insurance, Homesite and The General, are in place helping customers with damage from Hurricane Michael.

The companies have already received 150 claims from Michael, with the number expected to increase as the storm continues on its path through the Southeast. Michael made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane on Wednesday in Mexico Beach, Florida, and is moving northeast as a tropical storm through Georgia, the Carolinas and Virginia.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Michael is expected to move back into the Atlantic later today or early Friday morning.
