More than a game

Summary

American Family Insurance, in partnering with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, is honoring the shared values of future football stars, aspiring musicians, and the men and women serving in our military.

On Saturday, January 6, in a game broadcast to the world, the American Family Insurance brand will take to the field with 100 of the nation’s best prep football players as well as 125 top marching band members.

It’s all part of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl presented by American Family Insurance – an East-West gridiron matchup to be broadcast on NBC (noon Central Time).

And while American Family is proud to support the dreams of all participants – to date, 351 event alumni have played in the NFL and many band members have gone on to musical careers – it’s equally honored to support the U.S. Army and other branches of the military.

Three veterans from our own ranks – Steve Tjugum, agency strategy vice president; Julia Pearson, customer experience senior strategist; and Trevor Morgan (agent in Mt. Pleasant, Wis.) – will be present when the action kicks off in the Alamodome.

At the Army Awards show, Tjugum will present both the American Family Insurance Defensive Player of the year award, and the American Family Insurance Marching Band Family of the Year honor.

Morgan will be interviewed during halftime on Sirius XM radio.

All three representatives will present a $10,000 check from American Family to the Warrior and Family Support Center.

“Having served in the Armed Forces, I’m very proud of how this event highlights not only the outstanding dedication and drive of these young people – but also the integrity and valor of all those who’ve served our nation in the U.S. Army and other armed forces,” says Trevor. “It truly shows that if you have big dreams, you can accomplish anything.”
-Trevor Morgan, American Family Insurance agent, Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin

“American Family plays a tremendous role supporting our military members – both veterans and those currently serving,” adds Julia. “From our Business Resource Group, to charitable donations to veterans groups, to helping families of deployed agents and employees, this company does what’s right for those who serve.”
-Julia Pearson, American Family Insurance customer experience senior strategist

“This truly is a unique event that aligns well with our mission and vision, says Steve. “We recognize our military – the ultimate dream protectors; we honor the families, coaches, teammates and teachers that inspire these athletes and musicians; and we partner with the Warrior and Family Support Center to restore those who have given freely to protect the American Dream."
-Steve Tjugum, American Family Insurance agency strategy vice president
