Community of Dreamers donation recipients announced
It's Giving Tuesday, and the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation is awarding $1,000 donations to 250 non-profits across the country, nominated by customers.
Last year, in honor of American Family's 90th anniversary, the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation awarded 90 donations of $3,000 each to charitable organizations across the country, nominated by customers, employees and agents.
Customers loved this program and the opportunity to nominate deserving non-profits of their choice in their local communities, so the Dreams Foundation Community of Dreamers program was brought back in 2018. Nominations were accepted from any American Family Insurance customer for a two-week period in October.
So today, on Giving Tuesday (a global day of giving that kicks off the charitable giving season), the Dreams Foundation's Community of Dreamers program is pleased to announce 250 different non-profit organizations across the country will each receive a $1,000 donation.
"We received more than 11,000 nominations from our customers all across the country," said Judd Schemmel, American Family Insurance director of community investment. "We appreciate the opportunity to invest in and support non-profits that mean the most to our customers, that are doing valuable work right in the places where they live, work and raise their families."

The Community of Dreamers donation program is in addition to a twice-yearly grant program administered by the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation.
